Conservation

  • Upper Booth is farmed with conservation in mind. The farm is part of the National Trust's High Peak Estate where the aim is to maintain the landscape and its features and encourage wildlife.
  • In conjunction with DEFRA and the National Trust, a programme of restoring drystone walls is being carried out, and remnant hedges are being replanted. The ditches on an area of pasture have been blocked to re-wet the land in order to encourage wading birds such as snipe, lapwing and curlew.
